  • The Agents and Abstracters Forum provides an unparalleled opportunity for small agents and abstracters to meet with your peers and freely exchange ideas, experience and opinions on issues that affect your business today. The agenda is developed by title agents, for title agents. The discussion flows freely since there are only agents in attendance. Come and join in the discussion of major issues of the day that affect ALTA members.  As always, spouses/guests are most welcome.

    There are three opportunities for you to participate in these Forums this year.  They will be in Nashville, TN, Omaha, NE, and Madison, WI.  On the evening prior to each meeting, there will be an optional "pay for your own" group dinner onsite at the hotel. The Forum will begin on at 8:30 a.m. with a continental breakfast and the meeting will start at 9 a.m., with a working lunch, concluding at 4 p.m., so those who are traveling can get home that evening.  Each Forum will have a different speaker for the morning session, and the afternoon will be filled with a roundtable discussion on the topics of interest as selected by the attendees.  These topics have included the following recently:  competition in a small market; using social media to drive business; hiring and firing issues; the effects of cancelled orders in profits; and the CFPB’s proposed combined mortgage disclosures.  These topics change each time so those in attendance get to discuss what’s most important to them.

    Business casual attire is appropriate.

    Forum Schedule

    May 19 – Madison, WI

    The American Land Title Association will be hosting a one day forum at the Hyatt Place Madison Downtown on May 19, 2014. Please note, this meeting is only open to agents and abstracters. A block of rooms has been reserved at the Hyatt Place Madison at a rate of $139 per night (not including tax). The rate includes a complimentary hot breakfast buffet and free wi-fi internet access.     Join us to hear from Craig Haskins of Knight Barry Title about technology tools you should be using in your business.  As the COO of one of the Midwest’s largest title agencies, Craig must keep on top of the latest tools to help run an efficient agency.  He will share a host of ideas with you, many of them available for free, in this presentation.

    Registration

    You can register by clicking here or by downloading a PDF of registration form and faxing it to ALTA at (202) 223-5843. Each primary attendee must be registered separately; one person cannot register another from the same company. Only guests can be added to a primary registrant’s registration. The Registration fee for each of the Agents and Abstracters Forums is $50 for all attendees.

    Cancellation Policy

    If you must cancel ALTA requires a minimum of five days business days’ notice of cancellation. Cancellation Notice should be sent via e-mail to Lauren Dollerschell at lauren@alta.org.
