Landata Technologies Names Barnett President

April 8, 2002

HOUSTON -Landata Technologies, Inc., a subsidiary of Stewart Information Services Corp. (NYSE-STC), has named Chuck Barnett as president. Barnett had joined Landata Technologies in 2001 as chief information officer.

"We considered several candidates through a month-long search and are pleased that Chuck was the best choice," said Donald A. O'Neill, Stewart group president and region R manager. "His selection is based in part on his years of experience managing real estate oriented data companies and his exceptional focus on customer service."

Landata Technologies is a full-service real estate information company providing facilities management, data conversion, technical consulting services, and automated land records systems including public sector systems such as county clerks and recorders. Barnett will be working with the company's executive team to expand the sales and scope of land records-related databases used in the public and private sectors.

Barnett has more than 20 years experience in title automation, working on mainframe-based title plant services and installations of Unix, Netware(R) and Windows(R)-based multi-user computer systems. He managed the information technology services staff and re-engineered a state wide area network for a large regional title insurance underwriter, and was involved in product development and expansion for Tyler Technologies. Barnett is a frequent speaker at technology conferences held by the Texas Land Title Association, American Land Title Association, and National Settlement Services.

He is a Certified Novell Engineer (CNE), Certified Document Imaging Architech (CDIA), Certified Cisco Network Associate (CCNA), and a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) with a specialty in SQL Server databases.
