LandAmerica Strengthens Florida Panhandle Presence With Acquisition of Lawyers Title Agency of North Florida Companies

August 13, 2004

Richmond, Virginia – LandAmerica Financial Group, Inc. (NYSE: LFG), a leading provider of real estate transaction services, through its Lawyers Title Insurance Corporation® subsidiary, announces the acquisition of Lawyers Title Agency of North Florida, Inc., and Lawyers Title Agency of North Florida, West Division, Inc. This strategic move enhances LandAmerica’s presence in the Panhandle of Florida.

Falcon B. Sellars, Jr., is principal of both Lawyers Title Agency companies and will continue managing them following the acquisition. “After partnering with LandAmerica Lawyers Title for 16 years, we grew to be their top agent in the state of Florida and among their top five agents nationally, based on sales,” said Sellars. “This makes the timing perfect for joining the LandAmerica family. By combining our commitment to delivering effective solutions with LandAmerica’s substantial financial and technological resources, our customers will receive even better service in the future.”

The Lawyers Title Agency companies have approximately 90 employees working in ten offices located throughout Escambia, Santa Rosa, and Bay counties in Florida.
