Perez-Baca joins Stewart Title mountain states region as emerging markets director

November 30, 2005

Tammy Perez-Baca has joined the mountain states region of Stewart Title Guaranty Co. as director of emerging markets, covering the states of Colorado, Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah and Wyoming.

Perez-Baca has served ethnic communities in Colorado for more than 10 years. She most recently served as marketing director for the city of Breckenridge, Colo., conducting market research that confirmed Hispanics and African-Americans as an excellent target market for advertising snowriding recreational opportunities in the area.

She began her career in the early 1990s. Working for two prominent minority-focused advertising and public relations firms, she strategized community relations plans for the Colorado Rockies Major League Baseball team, the 5 Points Media Center and IBM. She also developed niche marketing plans for such corporations as Qwest, Winter Park Ski Resort and Banco Popular.

"We are so pleased to have Tammy as a new member of our team," said Rand Zimmerman, senior vice president, region manager, Stewart Title Guaranty Co. "She will be working with our Stewart Title offices throughout the region on strategies for serving - and expanding - our customer base of minority and immigrant homebuying customers.

"Stewart is committed to working with real estate agents and brokers who are helping Hispanic, African-American, Asian and other minorities and immigrants to pursue the American dream of homeownership," said Zimmerman. "We already provide various resources in languages other than English and are working to hire closing staff in our offices who can speak Spanish and other foreign languages. However, we know we can do more to help minority and historically underserved customers feel more comfortable with the homebuying process. Tammy will help lead us in that drive."

Perez-Baca joins a growing effort as Stewart Title builds its emerging markets staff across the nation, led by José Menéndez, national director of emerging domestic real estate markets.

Perez-Baca is a first-generation Mexican American. She has lived in Colorado for the past 15 years and has also dedicated her time and money to the Denver Hispanic Education Foundation, the Denver Advertising Federation and the National Hispanic Scholarship Fund. She graduated with honors from Regis University with a bachelor's degree in communications.

Perez-Baca will be based out of Denver.
