First Advantage buys Birmingham's Single Source Services

August 2, 2006

Single Source Services Inc. has been acquired by First Advantage Corp. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but a company spokesman did say First Advantage plans to keep a local service and sales presence in the Alabama office, retaining as many of Single Source's nine employees as possible.

Although St. Petersburg, Fla.-based First Advantage (NASDAQ: FADV - News) has been doing business in Alabama for several years, the Single Source acquisition will become the company's first Alabama office.

Says First Advantage CEO John Long: "Our strategic expansion into selected regional markets is based on the segment's model of local delivery of services by a proven, service-oriented team for enhanced customer loyalty."

First Advantage's Employer Services segment offers recruiting services, applicant tracking software, skills assessments and testing, tax credits screening, background screening and occupational health services.

Single Source Services, a Birmingham-based employment screening company founded in 1992, caters to small and midsize Alabama employers. Owner and President Harold Doss will remain with the company in a sales capacity.

St. Petersburg, Fla.-based First Advantage is a subsidiary of First American Corp. (NYSE: FAF - News). First Advantage was formed in June 2003 via the merger of First American Corp.'s screening segment and U.S. Search.com and employs more than 4,300 people worldwide. According to its Web site, the company has acquired more than 40 companies since that time.
