May 17, 2007

SAN DIEGO -- Ron Howarth, former major accounts division manager for Stewart Title of California, has been named senior vice president, south metro district commercial/subdivision manager.

In addition to leading the Orange County commercial, builder and special-projects teams, Howarth now manages commercial and builder sales and service activities for Stewart Title of California's Imperial, Inland Empire and San Diego divisions. He also serves as chairman of the company's state commercial/subdivision council.

"We recently merged our major accounts and Orange County divisions to become one operation under the leadership of division president Gregg Shuler," said Brian Hurley, president, Stewart Title of California. "That merger will drive synergies and cooperation that is central to broad, long-term outstanding customer service.

"Ron's role is to provide overall direction and guidance for Stewart Title's statewide commercial and builder market growth," added Hurley. "In addition, his move to this new and evolving role will drive a focused commitment to commercial and builder customers who have specialized needs in underwriting, escrow and closing - many with multiple operations and multiple venues."

Howarth is an 19-year title industry veteran, with experience in commercial, industrial and builder segments. He has a bachelor of science degree and is a licensed real estate agent.
