LandAmerica Names Janice E. Carpi SVP- Commercial Services Senior Underwriter / Transaction Counsel

RICHMOND, Va., -- LandAmerica Financial Group, Inc. announced that Janice E. Carpi has been promoted to Senior Vice President - Commercial Services Senior Underwriter and Transaction Counsel. in this position, Carpi assumes underwriting responsibility for LandAmerica's growing international Commercial Services business and serves as principal underwriting contact for the company's domestic Commercial Services business. She is based in Richmond, Virginia. Carpi's career as a practicing real estate attorney spans nearly 27 years and she has been with LandAmerica since 1985. She had most recently been serving the company as Vice President and Senior Underwriting Counsel. "Janice has managed and navigated numerous complex real estate transactions for customers throughout her career," said Jeffrey C. Selby, President - LandAmerica Commercial Services. "With the commercial marketplace growing in complexity, Janice's expertise will benefit our expanding customer base that's seeking a single point of contact for transactions conducted globally."

Carpi received her juris doctorate degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, and her bachelor of arts degree from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. She is a member of the State Bars of Texas, Virginia, Nevada, and the American College of Real Estate Lawyers, where she currently serves as a member of the Board of Governors. She is a past Chair of the Title Insurance Committee of the American Bar Association's Real Property, Probate and Trust Section.
