Stewart Title expands in Italy, Costa Rica

Stewart Title Ltd. And Stewart Title Costa Rica both recently announced expansions of their operations.
Stewart Title Ltd., the underwriter for UK, European, Australian and New Zealand transactions for Stewart Information Services Corp., announced the opening of its office in Milan, Italy, and the appointment of Caterina Tosello as country and regional market director. Tosello will be responsible for developing and maintaining Stewart Title’s business in Italy.
“Stewart Title is pleased to open an office in Italy and welcomes Caterina to this new role,” said Steven M. Lessack, chief executive officer, Stewart Title Ltd. “By establishing a local presence in Italy, Stewart will be able to fully support the growing demand for our various products in this market.”
Tosello joins Stewart Title with more than eight years of experience as an associate at law firms in Italy handling commercial real estate transactions, including cross-border transactions that represented a diversity of industries. Tosello graduated from the Law School of Ferrara University, was admitted to the Italian bar in 2004 and earned her Ph.D. in law from Pisa University in 2005.
“With her extensive experience closing commercial transactions, Caterina’s addition to Stewart Title strengthens our commitment to provide clients with local, experienced experts who can find solutions to close even the most complicated deals,” concluded Lessack.
To reduce risk and improve efficiency in residential and commercial conveyancing and re-mortgage transactions, Stewart Title offers a full range of legal indemnity products to solicitors, lenders and property owners including a gap policy, a single-risk indemnity policy and escrow services.
Stewart Title Costa Rica is a wholly owned subsidiary of Stewart Title Latin America, which is an independently owned agent of Stewart Title Guaranty Co.
STCR and Pacifico Retail Village have entered into an exclusive agreement to provide Post Closing Services (PCS), loan processing and underwriting, as well as title and closing services to Pacifico homebuyers.
"The new office at Pacifico’s Retail Village reinforces our belief in the tremendous potential offered by the market in Guanacaste,” said Carlos Gonzalez, Chairman of the Board for Stewart Title Latin America. “We are certain that a permanent presence will allow us to provide a better service to fulfill the needs of the various developments present in the region."
The newest STCR operation joins a growing network of Latin American and Caribbean operations providing both international and local purchasers and lenders with cutting-edge title and real estate information services.
