First American SMS Integrates Title and Escrow Platform with AgentNet

September 18, 2012

First American SMS, provider of the StreamLine title and escrow production platform, announced the national release of StreamLine 6.1, which integrates with First American Title Insurance Company’s AgentNet.

StreamLine users who are title insurance agents for First American may now accelerate their internal processes by searching prior title insurance policies (where available) and generating approved First American closing protection letters (CPLs) and policy jackets from within the StreamLine system. Data input into StreamLine is automatically replicated in AgentNet, which lessens the need to re-key data and helps to reduce clerical errors.

“StreamLine users are looking for ways to compress processes and maximize the use of their resources,” said Patrick Schultz, vice president of First American SMS. “With this integration, our customers are able to order First American CPLs and policy jackets through a single-step process from within StreamLine.”

More than 2,500 requests from early users of the integration were already received and processed during the pilot release phase. Jonathan Peck, a partner at the Connecticut law firm of Peck & Tuneski, P.C., stated: “The end product is a wonderful improvement in the way our office orders back title, CPLs and title policies within the Streamline software.”

“When we consider what our title insurance agents want most from us as a technology provider, increased access to systems that improve efficiency tops the list,” said Larry Godec, chief information officer for First American Title Insurance Co. “Integrating AgentNet into StreamLine 6.1 creates efficiencies that can improve agent workflow and, in turn, help agents save time and money.”
