The Docket: Do Title Companies Owe Duty of Care to Third Parties in Recording of Legal Instruments?

Dan Buchanan, senior division underwriter for First American Title Insurance Co., provided today’s review of a case before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, which certified the following question to the Washington Supreme Court: Does a title company owe a duty of care to third parties in the recording of legal instruments?
