The New York State Land Title Association (NYSLTA) has elected officers for the 2016-17 membership year. Formed in 1921, NYSLTA and its board affords membership to title insurance companies licensed in New York State, abstract companies, title insurance agents, law firms, individual attorneys, surveyors, and others actively engaged in real estate. NYSLTA's new membership year began Nov. 1.

The officers for the 2016-2017 membership year are:

  • President – William (Bill) Collins, Frontier AbstractandResearchServices, Inc.
  • President Elect – Richard Estrella, Fidelity National Title Group.
  • Immediate Past-President – Marianne Mathieu, AmTrust Title Insurance Company.
  • Treasurer – Dawn Pereyo, Westcor Land Title Insurance Company.
  • Title Insurance Section Chair – Marvin Bagwell, Old Republic National Title Insurance.
  • Abstractors and Agents Section Chair – Richard Giliotti, Judicial Title Insurance Agency LLC.

“It is my intention to help the Association grow in terms of its relevance and reputation,” said Collins, title officer for Frontier Abstract and Research Services Inc. and NYSLTA new president. “Under Marianne Mathieu’s leadership, NYSLTA realized significant achievement; protecting consumers by opposing hidden taxes disguised as fees as well as advancing meaningful legislation at the federal level to ensure consumers receive accurate title insurance premium disclosures, eliminating confusion during mortgage transactions.”

Collins, a title officer with Frontier, has extensive experience in title and survey review, real estate closings and residential real estate transactions. He recently outlined his priorities for the Association which include amplifying its voice regarding state and federal regulatory matters and to enhance the profile and regard for its industry professionals.  Prior to his role with Frontier, Collins served as president of Crossroads Abstract Corporation and president of one of the Rochester area’s most visible civic organizations, the Maplewood Neighborhood Association.

“Bill Collins will lead a respected board that brings a statewide perspective and a depth of professional and civic experience to the New York State Land Title Association,” said Robert Treuber, NYSLTA’s executive director.”
