LandAmerica Board Announces Departure of Markets EVP

May 29, 2002

RICHMOND, Va., /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- LandAmerica Financial Group, Inc., (NYSE: LFG), a provider of title insurance and a broad range of real estate-related services, announces that Karen L. Schmidt, former Executive Vice President, Markets, has left the company to pursue other interests. Schmidt joined LandAmerica in 2001 to help create business and marketing strategies.

Theodore L. Chandler, Jr., Senior Executive Vice President, said, "During her tenure, Schmidt has been instrumental in setting the strategic direction for our national marketing and brand programs. We will continue with the implementation of key business disciplines and standards of excellence that Schmidt introduced. We wish her well in her future endeavors."
