First American Names State Counsel for Ohio

First American Title Insurance Company announced that Kevin Eichner has been named state counsel for Ohio. In his newly expanded role, Eichner will assume the additional responsibilities of state counsel for all First American Title offices in the state of Ohio while continuing to serve as state agency counsel and president of Ohio Bar Title (OBT), a First American-owned company since 1999.

Prior to First American’s acquisition of Ohio Bar Title, Eichner managed the Columbus commercial division of Ohio Bar Title Insurance Company and its 1031 exchange qualified intermediary subsidiary, OBT Exchange Corporation.

“This is a well-deserved promotion,” said Evan Zanic, senior vice president and region manager of First American Title Insurance Company. “Kevin’s vast experience in the industry and dedication to providing a high level of service to our agents has enabled our success in Ohio.”

Eichner earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and a juris doctor from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law in Columbus, Ohio.

Before entering the title insurance industry, he practiced law privately in the areas of real estate, real estate development, federal and state taxation, and estate and probate. Eichner is a past president of the Ohio Land Title Association and the Ohio Title Insurance Rating Bureau, Inc. He is also a member of the Real Property Law Section Council of the Ohio State Bar Association and a member of the Columbus Bar Association. Eichner is a licensed title insurance agent (Ohio) and is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive) (Ohio). He is a periodic author and continuing education speaker on real estate law and title insurance topics.
