Robert J. Palmer Appointed Chief Information Officer at LandAmerica

RICHMOND, Va., /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- LandAmerica Financial Group, Inc., (NYSE: LFG - News), a leading provider of real estate transaction services, has promoted Robert J. Palmer to the position of Chief Information Officer. Palmer is responsible for information technology research, systems development and infrastructure, computer operations, and the integration of technology resources into operations.
Palmer joined Lawyers Title Insurance Corporation, a LandAmerica subsidiary, as a senior consultant in 1990. He became vice president and director of systems development and support in 1993 and a year later, was elected senior vice president. In 2000, Palmer was elected president of Elliptus Technologies, Inc, LandAmerica's wholly owned technology subsidiary.
Palmer's previous experience includes working as associate director of student systems at Tulane University in New Orleans, where he received his bachelor of science degree in computer information systems.
