Colorado-Based Title Company Wins Five-Year HUD Contract

November 3, 2011

Williams Title Guaranty and Escrow Agency, Ltd., a Colorado-based title and escrow services agency offering sale and mortgage services for residential and commercial real estate, was awarded a five-year contract to serve as a designated closing agent for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

The new contract began Sept. 30, 2011 and runs through September 2016. Williams Title Guaranty and Escrow Agency will handle the HUD closings for the entire state of Colorado.

“We have worked with HUD since 2004 and performed more than 10,000 closings,” said Betsy Williams, president of Williams Title. “We’ve enjoyed a strong working relationship with this important U.S. government agency. Along with many others, we submitted a very strong proposal, and feel very fortunate to be allowed to continue to serve HUD in their ongoing real estate transactions.”

The company specializes in providing title insurance and escrow services on lender-owned REO, as it continues to be a designated closing agent for HUD.

“Though we have served the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in the past,” said Michelle McCollum, Williams Title’s COO, “we still had to submit a very detailed and exacting proposal. We feel most fortunate to be allowed to continue to provide these services within this important capacity.” McCollum is the recipient of the 2011 Denver Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” Nomination.

Williams Title has offices in Cherry Creek in Denver and in Centennial, Colo., and employs 35 people between the offices.
