A.M. Best Seeks Title Industry Input on Reports

February 7, 2012

A.M. Best Co. is requesting comments from market participants in the insurance industry and other interested parties on the following draft criteria reports:

"Rating Title Insurance Companies" (updates version dated December 6, 2007)
"BCAR for Title Insurance Companies" (updates version dated March 4, 2008)

The updates are part of A.M. Best's continual review of its rating methodology.

The draft criteria report, "Rating Title Insurance Companies," describes the relevant qualitative and quantitative aspects involved in rating insurers within the title insurance industry and contains updates to key industry statistics.

The draft criteria report "BCAR for Title Insurance Companies" contains updated exhibits that demonstrate how the Title BCAR is used for title insurance companies.

Updates to the above criteria reports are not considered material to A.M. Best ratings.

A.M. Best will consider feedback from any interested parties prior to publishing these criteria reports. Written comments can be submitted by email to rating.methodology@ambest.com no later than March 2, 2012.
