Fidelity Adds Exec to Bolster Builder, Commercial Business

Fidelity National Title Co. announced the appointment of Bruce Maize as vice president/major accounts responsible for handling builder and commercial services for the greater Coachella Valley in California. He has a career that has spanned over 30 years in land development and home building, with 26 of those in the Coachella Valley.

With a Bachelor’s Degree in economics from UC Berkeley and an MBA from Pepperdine, Maize began his career in the building industry in the late 1970s. Working with a Southern California builder, he was responsible for the construction administration for their eight projects in the region. Over the course of 30 years, he has experience as a general manager, president and CEO for various development companies includes land planning, acquisition feasibility analysis and entitlements, construction management, cost controls, sales and marketing.

In 2006, Maize founded Empire West Development, a privately held residential homebuilding company, whose projects included site development within the Desert Princess Country Club, a joint venture with Cornerstone Desert Properties and several custom home lots in Rancho Mirage.

Active in the building industry, he has served as Director of the Building Industry Association (BIA) for Southern California and Riverside County. He is currently a life director for the BIA – Desert Chapter of which he served as President in 1991 and 1998, and was named “Builder of the Year” in 1997. Maize has served as a member of Cathedral City’s Downtown Revitalization Committee and is a founding director of the Desert Valley Builders Association. He is involved with his community through the Boy Scouts of America local Palm Desert troop and has been a Member and Chair of the Board of Trustees with St. Margaret’s Episcopal School.
