Old Republic Names Director of Internal Audit

August 30, 2012

Old Republic National Title Insurance Co. (ORNTIC) announced that Larry Davis has joined the company as vice president and director of internal audit. He replaces Kevin Gauer, first vice president and chief internal auditor, who is retiring at the end of August after 27 years with the company.

In this role, Davis will be responsible for managing the Internal Audit Department, in order to independently review and evaluate the financial and operating activities of the company, its subsidiaries and agencies.

Davis comes to the Old Republic with over 30 years of experience as a senior financial and internal audit executive. Prior to joining Old Republic Title, he served as senior vice president and director of audit services for another large national underwriter, where he was charged with managing a staff that provided internal audit services, IT audits and compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley. While there, Davis also developed an industry-leading risk modeling program and an integrated audit approach that tested controls for Sarbanes-Oxley documentation during standard auditing procedures.

Actively involved in several industry organizations, Davis is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Texas Society of Public Accountants and the Institute of Internal Auditors.

Additionally, he is the former president and a current board member of the Institute of Internal Auditors’ Houston Chapter, and is a current member and former Chairman of the American Land Title Association’s Audit Committee. Davis holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University; and is a certified public accountant in Texas and a certified fraud examiner.
