Stewart Realty Solutions Adds Groom as Vice President of Technology Development

HOUSTON, /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Tom Groom has joined Stewart Realty Solutions as vice president of technology development.
"Tom has been directly involved for 10 years at the enterprise level in development and deployment of Web-based technology and e-commerce solutions with nationally recognized realty firms, including Long Realty Co. of Tucson, Ariz., and HomeServices of America of Minneapolis, Minn.," said Travis Wright, president and chief executive officer, Stewart Realty Solutions.
"Tom will be working closely with Mark Cira, founder and president of RealtyAssist, to direct the product enhancement, development and integration strategy for SureClose into other technology platforms in the real estate brokerage, mortgage and title industries," said Wright. "His hands-on experience and strategic insight into transaction management platforms, together with his enthusiasm, make him a perfect addition to our leadership team."
Groom has 13 years experience in information technology and e-commerce, as well as extensive knowledge of real estate sales operations, mortgage, title and escrow businesses. He most recently was responsible for managing technology development, roll-out, integration and sale strategy for a Web- based transaction management platform for a national settlement service and technology company.
He holds a bachelor of science in decision information (IT e-commerce) from the University of Maryland at College Park.

Stewart Realty Solutions acquired RealtyAssist in January 2004. The firm provides paperless transaction management solutions to the real estate, closing and mortgage industries. RealtyAssist had partnered with Stewart Title Co. for four years to provide the private-labeled transaction management system for Stewart Title agents. The SureClose system is already installed in more than 600 Stewart affiliated and independent title agent offices, with some 295,000 files either closed or in escrow.
