David C. Imig Named President of LandAmerica Tax and Flood Services, Inc.

July 30, 2004

Richmond, Virginia — LandAmerica Financial Group, Inc. (NYSE: LFG), a provider of real estate transaction services, announces that it has named David C. Imig President of LandAmerica Tax and Flood Services, Inc. (formerly known as LERETA Corp.). Imig succeeds Dale Quarto, LandAmerica Tax and Flood President, who is retiring. The transition will be effective October 1, 2004.

Imig joined LERETA in January 2003 as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, with responsibility for all tax and flood service operations. He has over 30 years of experience in the lending industry and extensive knowledge of managing loan service operations, which include the real estate tax and flood hazard certification functions.

During the course of his successful career, Imig served as a senior officer and loan service manager at Washington Mutual Bank, GE Capital Mortgage, Citicorp Mortgage, and Travelers Mortgage. At GE, Citicorp, and Travelers, he succeeded in starting their loan service businesses and helped these companies meet aggressive growth goals.

"Out of the highly-qualified candidates, I’m pleased that Dave has been chosen to succeed me as President,” says Dale Quarto. "In addition to being a strong leader, thinker, and collaborator, Dave is the inspired choice to strengthen and grow LandAmerica Tax and Flood Services. I am confident that under his stewardship, the company and its employees will be well managed and will flourish.”

"LandAmerica is fortunate to work with people of the caliber of both Dale Quarto and Dave Imig,” said Charles H. Foster, Jr., Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of LandAmerica. "We expect a seamless transition between Dale — a visionary who understands the market and its needs — to Dave, who has a long and successful track record for dramatically accelerating market penetration and revenue growth.”
