E-recording Availability Expands in Wisconsin, Oklahoma and Alaska

May 21, 2013

Simplifile announced electronic recording is now available through its network in two additional Alaska recording districts, Bethel and Kuskokwim, as well as McClain County, Okla. and Green Lake County, Wis.

McClain County Clerk Pam Beller first learned about e-recording from another county at a conference she attended and decided to learn more about the process.

“After talking with Alan Hogan at Simplifile, I decided [e-recording] would be a service that would greatly benefit our customers as far as saving them time and money,” Beller said.

McClain County is the 32 county to begin e-recording in Oklahoma with Simplifile and joins nearly 900 additional recording jurisdictions across the country that have adopted e-recording as their recording method of choice. Meanwhile, there are currently 27 out of 34 Alaska recording districts enabled for e-recording, all of which started e-recording with Simplifile reported.

According to Green Lake County Register of Deeds Sarah Guenther, who took office in January, her goal is to have 25 percent of customers e-recording by the end of the year. “Part of my promise to the voters and citizens of Green Lake County when I took office was to automate our services and provide submitters with an electronic option to save money and time,” Guenther said. Green Lake County is the 35 Wisconsin county to begin e-recording, joining more than 850 additional recording jurisdictions throughout the U.S. that e-record with Simplifile.
