December 16, 2014

Stewart Title Guaranty Co. announced that its Community of Sharing program raised $37,675 to support Homes for Our Troops. Community of Sharing program has donated approximately $125,000 in funds to support U.S. troops over the past three years. Established in 2004, Homes for Our Troops is a national nonprofit that builds specially adapted homes for severely injured Veterans who have returned home with life-altering injuries since Sept. 11, 2001.

“Having broken the $100,000 donation threshold is a wonderful testament to our agent’s commitment to the community and the country,” said George Houghton, Stewart’s group president, agency operations. “Each year our philanthropic program, Community of Sharing, helps to strengthen our agency network and our communities.”

The Community of Sharing initiative is a national charitable giving program designed to enable the company’s independent agency network of more than 1,900 agency associates to give back to the communities in which they work and live. The program asks independent title agency associates to watch a series of videos to learn more about Stewart products and services that can benefit the agency. For each video viewed, Stewart donated $20 to Homes for Our Troops. To contribute further to the cause, Stewart agency associates donated more than $5,000 in personal donations.
