Five More Georgia Counties Adopt E-recording with Simplifile

July 21, 2015

Georgia has expanded electronic recording of land documents and records in five additional counties through Simplifile. The counties include Chatham, Haralson, Morgan, Pike and Taliaferro.

Using Simplifile’s secure, web-based service, customers such as title companies, banks, attorneys, and lien filers, will have the ability to scan or upload and submit documents directly to the counties and have them stamped, recorded, and returned in minutes.

“We are thrilled to see the e-recording rate of adoption continue to rise not only throughout the state of Georgia, but also across the nation,” said Paul Clifford, president of Simplifile. “It’s wonderful to see the improvements in workflow and recording turnaround time for counties and their customers, and we are excited to be able to provide this easy-to-use technology for these new counties.”

Fewer payment errors, fewer stamps and reduced mailing expenses are also some of the benefits that come with e-recording. Recording fees can be processed electronically through Simplifile’s secure service via Automated Clearing House or electronic funds transfer, eliminating check-writing expenses.

There are now 24 counties in Georgia that have adopted e-recording with Simplifile. Nationwide, more than 1,250 counties also e-record with Simplifile.

High-speed Internet access, a PC, and a scanner are the minimum requirements for customers to begin e-recording with Simplifile.
