November 1, 2005

United General Title Insurance Company, a subsidiary of First American Title Insurance Company, announced that Ronald R. Maudsley has been appointed president and chief executive officer. Maudsley will be responsible for the company’s overall operations, including overseeing agency, national commercial and direct operations nationwide. In addition, he will work to implement strategies that develop and grow the company into a major national brand.

Maudsley’s 30 years of title industry experience makes him an ideal candidate for this new role. Prior to joining United General, he spent 17 years with a large national title insurer where he had most recently served as executive vice president and chief operating officer. He is excited about the challenges ahead and extremely confident and passionate about the future of United General.

“United General is a strong company with some of the most respected people in the industry,” states Maudsley. “By adding additional top-notch employees and value-added services to this solid foundation, we’ll be able to make quite an impact throughout the nation. Our plan is to grow the company into a major national brand over the next three to five years.”

Gary L. Kermott, president of First American Title Insurance Company reinforces the goals laid out by Maudsley. “As United General transitions into a major national brand, we need a strong leader with knowledge and expertise in the title industry to grow the company,” said Kermott. “Ron’s experience will provide the leadership and vision that we need.”
