The First American Corporation Names Kathleen M. Collins SVP, Director of Corporate Compliance

SANTA ANA, Calif., -- The First American Corporation (NYSE: FAF), has appointed Kathleen M. Collins to the newly created position of senior vice president, director of corporate compliance, as part of the company's efforts to continue to centralize and strengthen its existing compliance programs. Collins will have compliance oversight covering the corporation's operational, human resources and information security programs, and will retain her positions as special counsel and assistant secretary for the corporation. "First American recognizes that marketplace and consumer expectations are sometimes moving ahead of regulatory guidelines, leading our company to re-examine what is acceptable and appropriate in today's business environment," said Parker S. Kennedy, chairman and chief executive officer of The First American Corporation. Our go-forward test goes beyond meeting existing regulatory standards and additionally requires that our companies meet self-imposed standards for good business conduct."

Experienced in state and federal compliance and regulatory requirements, Collins has served as vice president, special counsel and associate counsel for The First American Corporation since 2001. In addition to her extensive industry experience, Collins, who has worked for First American since 1997, holds a bachelor's degree from American University in Washington, D.C., and a juris doctor from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles.
