Stewart Acquires Whitman County Title in Pullman, Wash.

HOUSTON, /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Stewart Information Services Corp. (NYSE: STC - News) announced that its subsidiary, Stewart Title Co., has acquired Whitman County Title, located in Pullman, Wash. Existing key management and staff will remain.

"We felt that Stewart Title had a lot to offer us from a national perspective to help us serve our customers better," said Cheryl Rodeen, escrow officer and previous co-owner, Whitman County Title. "Joining Stewart will help us better focus on taking care of our customers' needs, especially as home sales begin to pick up."

Located in southeastern Washington in a thriving agricultural area, Pullman is a town of 25,000 residents located 75 miles south of Spokane and eight miles from Moscow, Idaho. The town is the home of Washington State University, which has nearly 18,500 undergraduate and graduate students at the Pullman campus.

Whitman County Title has been in business since 1979.
