PRIA's Progress and Future Plans

March 8, 2007

The Property Records Industry Association (PRIA) met February 28th - March 2nd in Washington, DC. More than 200 recorders, title professionals, lenders, and other property records professionals gathered to review PRIA's recent accomplishments and learn more about the challenges facing today's county recorders.

In just under 10 years, PRIA member volunteers have worked together to produce guidelines and white papers on Real Estate Document Formatting, Indexing Standards, and Essential Notary Standards, just to name a few. Currently active projects include Electronic Recording Standards, the Property Education Partners Project (PREP), and an exploration of Land Fraud issues in today's marketplace.

PRIA welcomes members and participation from all sectors of the real estate and mortgage finance industry. The ALTA Improvement of Land Title Records Committee works with PRIA on a frequent and ongoing basis.

PRIA's Summer Conference has been scheduled to take place July 21-24, 2007, in Charlotte, NC.
