Jo Etta Bandy Promoted to SVP, Corporate Communications for the First American Corp.

SANTA ANA, Calif., The First American Corporation (NYSE: FAF) today announced that Jo Etta Bandy has been appointed senior vice president, corporate communications. Recognized for her vital role in working with executive management to develop and disseminate the company's key messages, Bandy will continue to oversee all facets of First American's corporate communications efforts, which include media and public relations and internal employee communications and messaging, as well as corporate branding and reputation management.

Bandy, who joined The First American Corporation in 1998 as director of communications, was promoted to vice president, corporate communications in November 1999, a position she has held until her current promotion. In 2006, Bandy was appointed chairperson for the First American Homeownership Foundation.

Prior to her work with First American, Bandy worked for an Irvine, Calif.- based financial public relations consulting firm, where she served as vice president of broker and media relations from 1995 to 1998. Before that, she served four years as vice president, investor relations for the holding company of a major title insurance firm. From 1980 to 1990, Bandy worked for Covington Development Group, Inc., serving in numerous management positions, including vice president of corporate communications, director of investor relations, public relations manager and corporate secretary.

Bandy holds a bachelor's degree in communications-public relations sequence from California State University, Fullerton, where she serves as a member of the Blue Ribbon Committee in connection with the university's annual fundraising gala, Front & Center. An active member in community and industry organizations, she is a member of the National Investor Relations Institute and is a former board member for the organization's Orange County Chapter, where she has served as membership committee chairperson and communications committee chairperson. She is also a member of the Public Relations Society of America and has served as a judge for that organization's Bronze Anvil Awards.
