ALTA® Centennial Convention Kicks Off with Style

October 11, 2007

Over 700 title professionals and vendors kicked off the ALTA Centennial Convention in Chicago Wednesday night, at the beautifully decorated opening reception in the Exhibit Showcase. Approximately 30 vendors had demonstrations and held drawings for prizes.

Thursday morning, attendees were treated to the debut of the 100th Anniversary DVD, featuring interviews with current and former members about ALTA’s history. All ALTA members will receive a copy of the DVD after the convention – look for it in your mail!

Jack Rattkin, Jr. received an ALTA Honorary Membership, with a touching and sometimes funny introduction given by his son, Jack Rattikin, III. Honorary Membership is ALTA's higests honor and is bestowed by the Board for performance of distinguished and meritorious service to the association or to the land title industry.

Attendees also heard from TIPAC speaker Doug Sosnik, former senior advisor to President Clinton, and current crisis management advisor to U.S. Fortune 100 corporations, who gave his perspective on each candidate in the race for U.S. President, and attended educational sessions on title industry topics.

In addition, more than 70 attendees had the opportunity to work on the Habitat for Humanity home sponsored by ALTA.
