Joe CasaRichfield, OH. - October Research Corporation is saddened to announce the death of its founder and publisher, Joseph R. Casa. He passed away, Saturday, June 28th, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his family.

Calling hours will be this Wednesday, July 2, 2-8 p.m. at Waite and Son Funeral Homes, 3300 Center Road, Brunswick. Services will be held, Thursday, July 3, 11 a.m. at First Unitarian Church of Cleveland, 21600 Shaker Blvd., Shaker Heights. Joe's career spanned over three decades, including positions with Record Data Companies, TRW, Inc., and Old Republic National Title Holding Co. He went on to found October Research in 1999, fulfilling a life-long goal of starting his own publishing company. A family endeavor, October Research and its first publication, The Title Report, quickly grew from a home office to multiple print and web publications to a national seminar series to a Top 10 Weatherhead 100 company. He took great pride in the rapid growth of the company, the opportunity to mentor others, and not only his professional industry relationships, but his friendships as well.

Over the course of his real estate and title industry career, Joe served as president and chairman of the Title/Appraisal Management Trade Association (TAVMA), board of directors member for the Real Estate Services Providers Council Inc. (RESPRO), executive committee member of the National Home Equity Mortgage Association (NHEMA), and advisory council member for the American Financial Services Association and Mortgage Bankers Association. He obtained his BA from Otterbein College and later graduated from TRW's worldwide business study program and executive education programs from several business schools.

Joe is survived by wife Barbara, who will succeed him as the company's chief executive officer. She is joined by son, Christopher, who will serve as chief operating officer. Both have been with October Research since incorporation and have collectively overseen business development and operations. Tatiana Parker serves as company president and associate publisher.
