Tuscaloosa, Ala., Resident Receives National Title Professional Designation from ALTA

Washington, DC, June 7, 2016 — Joseph E. Powell has been awarded a National Title Professional (NTP) designation from the American Land Title Association (ALTA), the national trade association of the land title insurance industry. Powell is the first NTP designee from Alabama and joins more than 60 other industry leaders from around the United States who have earned the professional designation.

The designation recognizes land title professionals who demonstrate the knowledge, experience and dedication essential to the safe and efficient transfer of real property.*

“Joe’s dedication and enthusiasm for the land title industry makes him the ideal National Title Professional,” said ALTA President John M. Hollenbeck NTP. “His knowledge and experience is an asset to our entire industry. I encourage other Alabama land title insurance professionals to follow Joe’s lead and apply for this designation.”

Powell is area counsel for Fidelity National Title Group in Birmingham, Ala. With more than 18 years of industry experience, Powell is a frequent speaker for ALTA, the Dixie Land Title Association (DLTA) and state bar associations. He is a member of ALTA’s Liaison Committee with the National Association of Insurance Commissioners and State Legislative/Regulatory Action Committee and is active on the DLTA Government Affairs and Social Media committees. Powell is also a member of the Alabama Department of Insurance Title Industry Advisory Committee, the Leadership Council of the Alabama Center for Real Estate and other professional organizations.
