BridgeSpan Inc., a provider of technology and settlement service programs to the mortgage industry, today announced the general availability of eMortgageAxis, a platform that enables lenders to process home loans from start to finish online, according to the company.

BridgeSpan reported that eMortgageAxis integrates with existing lender systems -- such as loan origination software -- to automate the loan process from origination through processing to closing to investor delivery.

"Our eMortgageAxis platform is the culmination of an enormous effort by many talented people and committed partners," BridgeSpan CEO Mark Evans said. "It is designed to efficiently process millions of mortgages, both paper and electronic, enabling our lender customers to significantly improve their profit margins, while making the mortgage process easier for consumers."

BridgeSpan reported that eMortgageAxis has been used by several lenders including CitiMortgage. CitiMortgage has utilized eMortgageAxis for both electronic and paper mortgages and then sold the mortgages to Fannie Mae.
