A la mode Inc. and Value IT announced today they have begun beta testing the Electronic Data Interchange initiative, an appraisal ordering, management and delivery technology.

The initiative is based on universal XML standards for appraisal and property data established by the Mortgage Industry Standards Maintenance Organization. The standard offers a data set geared specifically to the mortgage industry.

The plug-in will run in tandem with Value IT's existing proprietary ACI/Lighthouse delivery system so that current users will not be required to change systems but will have an additional electronic data interchange delivery option.

The pilot program is expected to last through August.

Bloomington, Minn.-based Value IT is an appraisal management company that offers valuation products and services.

Oklahoma City-based a la mode Inc. designs, develops and supports real estate related software, Internet solutions and electronic document technologies.
