The American Land Title Association (ALTA) welcomes accredited media representatives to attend its events to promote awareness and understanding of the title insurance industry and related topics. However, to protect the integrity of our educational content, foster an open and collaborative environment for attendees, and maintain the privacy of our members and guests, ALTA has established the following policy governing media participation at ALTA events:

Media Access and Accreditation

  1. Media Registration: Media representatives must register in advance to attend ALTA events and provide valid press credentials or other proof of professional status. Registration is subject to review and approval by ALTA.
  2. Identification: Accredited media must wear their event-issued media badge at all times while on-site. Badges must be visible and may not be transferred to another individual.

Access to Educational Sessions and Events

  1. General Access: Media representatives are permitted access to most general sessions, networking areas, and other non-restricted activities unless otherwise specified.
  2. Restricted Sessions: ALTA reserves the right to restrict media access to certain educational sessions, workshops, or events, as designated by ALTA. Restricted sessions will be clearly identified in the event program or communicated directly to media representatives.
  3. Closed Events: Certain social events, private meetings or invitation-only activities are not open to the media.

Recording and Reporting

  1. Photography, Video and Audio Recording: Media representatives must obtain prior written approval from ALTA before conducting any video or audio recording, live broadcasting or photography during sessions or events. Recording of restricted sessions is strictly prohibited.
  2. Attribution: Any published content based on information obtained at an ALTA event must appropriately attribute ALTA as the source.

Code of Conduct

  1. Professional Behavior: Media representatives are expected to conduct themselves professionally and courteously at all times. Any disruptive behavior or unauthorized recording may result in immediate revocation of event access.
  2. Compliance with Policies: Media representatives must comply with all event policies, including those related to intellectual property, confidentiality and attendee privacy.

ALTA’s Rights

  1. Revocation of Access: ALTA reserves the right to revoke media access at any time if a representative violates this policy or engages in conduct deemed inappropriate or detrimental to the event.
  2. Policy Modifications: ALTA may modify this media policy at its sole discretion and will communicate any changes to accredited media as appropriate.

Acceptance of Terms

By registering for or attending an ALTA event as media, representatives acknowledge and agree to abide by the terms of this policy.
