  The Biden Administration released a plan aimed at lowering housing costs that includes a pilot to waive the requirement for lender’s title insurance on certain refinances. ALTA called the announcement a political gesture offering a false promise of savings for homeowners while exposing consumers, lenders and taxpayers to greater financial risk.

The purpose and scope of work of this committee is to:

Help ALTA members understand the impact of, and comply with if required, comprehensive laws related to data privacy, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), by providing tools and resources.
Develop industry principles regarding federal or state comprehensive data privacy legislation or regulation.
Collaborate with industry partners on data privacy related advocacy efforts.
