Enables consumers to shop for loans by need, location, lender name

LoanDirectory.com kicked off the new year with the launch of its free online directory of lenders.
The Web site allows consumers to contact lenders directly as they shop around for loans, aiming to eliminate the middleman.
The directory lists more than 200 lenders offering home loans, commercial loans, auto loans, business loans, personal loans, credit cards, student loans and venture capital. Each listing presents information about the lender's programs and includes the bank representative's name, e-mail address and telephone number.
The point-and-click interface enables consumers to search for loan programs according to their specific needs, location or lender name. Lenders pay LoanDirectory.com a flat monthly fee to be listed, rather than paying the site for referrals.
Lenders currently listed on the Web site include Bank of America, GE Capital and Wachovia Securities as well as smaller regional lenders.
