Mark Winter Promoted to Stewart Executive Vice President of Public Policy

HOUSTON -- Mark Edward Winter has been elected to the position of executive vice president of public policy for Stewart Title Guaranty Co.
Since 1985, Winter has managed Stewart's office in Washington, D.C. He is responsible for the development and coordination of commercial and residential real estate business; and for procurement of international land titling projects funded by independent federal agencies. He also represents Stewart before Congress, various regulatory agencies and government-sponsored enterprises such as Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
Winter is a member of the boards of Stewart Information International Inc. and STEWPAC, the political action committee of Stewart Title Guaranty Co.
In addition to his Stewart responsibilities, Winter serves on the board of governors of the 3,200-member American Land Title Association (ALTA) and is chairman of its international development committee. In 1995-96, Winter served on the advisory board of World Mae, a corporation organized to facilitate the development of a secondary market for home-mortgage loans originated in countries throughout the world. He is a charter member of the International Land Registration Association and the Fannie Mae International Real Estate Roundtable.
Winter is a member of the board of Living Water International - a non-profit, interdenominational Christian ministry providing clean drinking water to people in developing countries, in particular Africa. He also is a member of the Millennium Water Alliance, a group of non-governmental organizations with experience and expertise in providing clean, safe water and sanitation services in developing countries.
Prior to joining Stewart, Winter was special assistant to the United States Ambassador to Jamaica and was on the professional staff of Rep. Bill Bray (R-Ind.) and Rep. Frances Bolton (R-Ohio).
Winter attended undergraduate and graduate school at Georgetown University.
