TIPAC Nears 2009 Goal

November 5, 2009

The Title Industry Political Action Committee (TIPAC) has raised more money from more American Land Title Association (ALTA) members than ever before and is nearing its goal of raising $250,000 in 2009.

Through October, TIPAC has raised more than $226,000. TIPAC raised $20,500 at ALTA’s Annual Convention in October and $16,700 at ALTA’s Federal Conference in March. Also, TIPAC has secured 100 percent participation from ALTA’s Board of Governors, an achievement that has never before been accomplished and recruited 10 new state trustees to work within their respective states to actively promote TIPAC.

The winning team of this year's Michael F. Wille Memorial TIPAC Golf Tournament held at the Breakers Ocean Course in Palm Beach, Fla., included Charles Kovaleski, Michael Kovaleski, Rande Yeager and Steve Wilson. The team shot a 55.

TIPAC trustees have developed a comprehensive strategy and fund-raising plan for 2010 to continue to grow the PAC in influence, significance and strength.

TIPAC is the only political action committee of its kind, organized for the express purpose of representing the title industry on Capitol Hill. TIPAC enables ALTA to develop relationships with members of Congress, while educating and advocating on behalf of the title insurance industry.

TIPAC continues to play a significant role in the country’s political process. ALTA hosted several TIPAC-sponsored inaugural events in January, at which TIPAC contributors attended the Presidential Swearing-in Ceremony, Inaugural Parade and an Official Inaugural Ball.
