Agent Defalcation Forces Regional Underwriter to Suspend Issuance of New Policies

September 20, 2011

Directors and officers of Virginia-based Southern Title Insurance Co. indicated the underwriter is solvent and has adequate surplus to pay all current and future claims, but suspended issuance of new title policies after it discovered a substantial defalcation by a former agent in Texas.
