Alliant National Title Names New Chief Claims Counsel; Manager of Texas Agencies
March 20, 2012
Alliant National Title Insurance Company recently named a new chief claims counsel and manager of its Texas agencies.
Karen Storlie Hoida, who joined the company as chief claims counsel and vice president, will be responsible for all areas of claims management, claims processes, and policy-related litigation.
Hoida has been in the title insurance business for over 15 years. She began as a staff attorney administering claims and worked her way up to become a regional claims manager for a large national underwriter, with responsibility for a large staff that administered claims in a thirteen-state region. Hoida brings significant experience in complex multi-party claims resolution including coordinating resolution of related litigation across state and federal jurisdictions.
"We feel extremely fortunate to be working with someone of Karen's caliber," says Phyllis Mulder, Alliant National Chief Legal Officer. "Her broad-based experience and exceptional expertise, together with her high standards and professional demeanor, make Karen a valuable addition to our team at Alliant National."
Hoida has a B.A from the University of California Davis and a J.D. from California Western School of Law.
"Alliant National's mission and professional reputation make this opportunity a very exciting one," Hoida said. "I'm delighted to be able to contribute my experience and training to the company."
Meanwhile, Rodney Anderson joined the company as senior vice president and Texas agency manager effective March 19. He is responsible for developing, marketing and managing Alliant National’s Texas agency operations and working with Alliant National’s senior management in expanding the company’s agent partnership programs in Texas.
Anderson is a seasoned real estate and title insurance industry expert, bringing more than 20 years of experience with independent agency operations and as an owner and partner in an independent agent and agency operation. Anderson has served as a Texas citizen legislator for the last two years as House Representative in the Texas Legislature.
“I am proud and thrilled to be a part of the Alliant National team, and in particular, to play in a key role with Alliant’s independent agents,” Anderson said. “Throughout my career I have worked to support the independent agents, and I look forward to working with our agents to help them grow their businesses.”
“Alliant National already offers a very unique and extensive education and information series to its independent agent network,” Anderson said. “I was fortunate enough to have a number of Alliant National agent-owners contribute to my house campaign. This is an opportunity to directly serve and partner with those agents.”
David Ginger, Alliant National president, said the company is excited to have Anderson join the team.
“His experience and background is a perfect melding of independent agent business growth and hands-on experience,” Ginger said. “We are excited with our expansion opportunities in Texas and extremely fortunate to have someone of Rodney’s experience and knowledge of the Texas independent agency industry.”
