U.S. Supreme Court Rules Virginia Can Reject Out of State Requests for Public Records

April 30, 2013

The ruling in McBurney v. Young upheld a federal appeals court decision validating Virginia’s Freedom of Information Act law that limits public record disclosure to those persons or entities that are “citizens” of Virginia.
