Simplifile Adds 22 Additional Counties in Midwest, West Coast

Simplifile, a provider of electronic document and data workflow technology for lenders, settlement agents and counties, recently added 22 additional county recording offices in the Midwest and on the West Coast to its e-recording platform. These new counties are located in Idaho, Illinois, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, Washington and Wisconsin.
“Adoption of e-recording isn’t just relegated to counties containing large municipalities,” said Paul Clifford, president of Simplifile, “Counties in states as lightly populated as North Dakota, for example, are also seeing the efficiency and cost benefits e-recording can provide and are choosing to make the switch from paper-based to electronic recording.”

- Kittitas County, Wash.

- Fond du Lac County, Wis.
- Jackson County, Wis.
- Oneida County, Wisc.
Using Simplifile’s secure, web-based e-recording service, settlement service providers can scan, upload and submit documents directly to the county for recording. Within minutes of submission to the county recorder, documents are reviewed, stamped, recorded and returned to the settlement service provider electronically. In addition, Simplifile enables settlement service providers and county recorders to reduce payment errors and eliminate check-based payment costs by securely processing payments through the Simplifile service.
The minimum requirements for customers to begin submitting documents for e-recording through Simplifile are high-speed Internet access, a computer and a scanner.
To date, 1,424 county recording offices throughout the United States use Simplifile to e-record deeds, mortgages and other documents.
