Brady & Kosofsky Completes Renewal of SOC 2 Report With Focus on Vendor Management
September 27, 2016
Charlotte-based law firm Brady & Kosofsky PA successfully completed its annual Service Organization Controls 2 (SOC 2) examination. The examination and audit was performed by the independent CPA firm of Kushner, Smith, Joanou & Gregson LLP of California.
The successful completion of the voluntary audit demonstrates Brady & Kosofsky’s ongoing commitment to creating and maintaining the stringent controls for the protection and security of its customer’s confidential information and for the availability of its non-public personal information. This year’s audit included a specific focus on the law firm’s vendor management program.
A SOC 2 examination is performed in accordance with AT Section 101, Attest Engagements (AICPA, Professional Standards). SOC 2 is designated as an acceptable method for a user entity’s management to obtain assurance about service organization internal controls over Security, Availability and Confidentiality without conducting additional assessments.
A SOC 2 examination is widely recognized, because it represents that a service organization has been through an evaluation of their control activities as they relate to the applicable Trust Services Principles and Criteria.
“Our customers are focused on security and confidentiality when handling their sensitive data” said, Brady & Kosofsky founding partner Jaime Kosofsky.“By achieving SOC 2 compliance for a second straight year, we have done two important things: First we have demonstrated that the design of our vendor management protocol and other processes are effective and second, we have proven its effectiveness through extensive, independent testing and results. This is yet another way in which Brady & Kosofsky, PA has exceeded the generally accepted industry best practices and is leading our industry. We are very proud as an organization to have achieved this important certification.”
