Spruce Names VP of Real Estate; Expands Into Texas

November 6, 2018

Spruce announced it has hired Lisa Robertson as executive vice president of real estate operations.

In this role, she will be responsible for scaling Spruce’s title and closing operations and leading the company’s new office in Dallas.

In a statement, the company said, “Lisa’s proven track record of success and experience is key for us as we look to enable not only mortgage lenders in their origination processes, but real estate companies as well. Until now, nobody has been motivated or focused on bringing meaningful cost savings and customer experience improvements to home purchase closings, and that is a key strategic focus for Spruce going forward.”

Robertson has 30 years of experience in the mortgage, title and real estate services industries. Prior to joining Spruce, she served as group senior vice president at Stewart where she was responsible for centralized title and closing operations before turning her attention to Stewart’s Relocation Services division. Robertson also spent 16 years at Citi leading operations for mortgage originations, small business lending and home equity. Recognizing the impact that title companies can have on the lending process and borrower experience, she joined First American as vice president of national operations where she led operations for large national accounts including two joint venture operations.

“The status quo has continued to overshadow innovation in this industry,” Robertson said. “I’ve been so impressed with Spruce, their commitment to transparency and re-imagining the customer experience. It’s at the core of everything they do. I’m incredibly excited to be a part of making the future of title and settlement a modern and more favorable experience.”
