Latest Claims Guide Features 150 New Court Decisions
Need advice on how to handle claims on land title insurance policies, closing protection letters and closing mistakes? The new 2021 Title and Escrow Claims Guide is now available to purchase. For the first time, the digital version features a linkable table of contents for ease of use. Take a peek at the table of contents and even read a chapter!
Published since 1996, the 1,744-page Claims Guide is the preferred research tool for land title claims administrators and retained counsel. The 2021 edition highlights more than 150 new court decisions not found in the 2020 edition. Cases include an unrecorded map that made title unmarketable, mechanics’ lien coverage, limited-access rights and policy coverage, Native American treaty rights that invoke coverage, concealment of risk by a proposed insured, double escrows, the survey exception, policy termination, coverage for land not insured in the policy, the impact of an insured's trespass and verbal abuse of a neighbor as well as endorsement coverage for post-policy liens that relate back.
Available in print or digitally, the 2021 edition adds new commentary and research on the PACA-PSA Trust threat, fundamentals of real estate titles, business entity theft and real estate wire fraud through phishing.
Now in its 25th year of publication, more than 2,000 court decisions have been added since the Claims Guide was first published. Older editions do not contain the latest changes to evolving title law, so make sure to update your collection!
