Owner of Fake Title Company in Michigan Pleads Guilty to Fraud Scheme to Fuel Gambling Habit

March 18, 2021

A Michigan real estate broker and investor pleaded guilty for executing a fraud scheme to defraud investors to fund his gambling habit with the Michigan Lottery. The man convinced the investors to wire funds into the account of a fake title company. The fraud scheme unraveled over a two-year period resulting in over $19 million in losses.
