Senior Advisor to President Biden to Speak at Free Virtual Event
If you’re interested in hearing the Biden Administration’s perspective on the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on small businesses and the economy—and where we go from here—you’ll want to attend the free and virtual ALTA Advocacy Summit, May 18-20. Cedric Richmond, Senior Advisor to the President and Director of the White House Office of Public Engagement, will speak to these topics and more on Thursday, May 20.
An attorney, politician and political advisor, Richmond was a five-term U.S. Representative for Louisiana’s second congressional district from 2011-2021. He joined the House Committee on Homeland Security, the Judiciary Committee and the Ways and Means Committee and sponsored 90 bills during his tenure in the chamber. Raised in New Orleans, Richmond also served as the Chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus for three years. After co-chairing President Biden’s successful presidential campaign, he was appointed to his current senior advisor position.
If you’ve never experienced ALTA Advocacy Summit, now is the time to try it on for size! Free and virtual, this year’s event couldn’t be more convenient. In addition to hearing some of Washington, D.C.’s most well-informed speakers, attendees also will have the option to meet virtually with Congressional members. The meetings are all arranged by state, so you only need to attend one day of meetings to talk with the legislators relevant to your district. (And if you’re nervous, don’t worry: ALTA staff will train you on industry issues during the event!)
To make sure your voice is heard on Capitol Hill, put the dates—May 18-20—on your agenda and get ready to create a lasting impression on members of Congress.
