CATIC Family of Companies Donates $15K to the Vermont Flood Relief

August 8, 2023

Three entities under the CATIC Family of Companies have contributed a total of $15,000 to the Vermont Main Street Flood Relief Fund. These entities include CATIC, CATIC Foundation, and Vermont Attorneys Title Corporation (VATC), each of which contributed $5,000 to the relief fund. The fund provides grants to Vermont’s small business owners who were impacted by severe rainstorms that caused catastrophic flooding in July.

“The company is pleased to provide financial support to aid in the return to normalcy of our communities and businesses thanks to the tireless activities of all our volunteers and town and state employees who are working long hours to clean up the disasters suffered state-wide by the rainfall and flooding,” said William Dakin, an attorney in Chester, Vt., and president of VATC.

This relief fund, in partnership with Capstone Community Action, provides grants in the range of $2,500 to $10,000 to cover costs such as equipment replacement, supplies replenishment, and cleanup. The ALTA Good Deeds Foundation awarded a $5,000 emergency grant to the Vermont Main Street Flood Relief Fund.

“Our thoughts are with the local business owners and residents who tragically lost their home, establishment, or loved ones as a result of this unforeseen flood,” said James M. Czapiga, president and CEO of the CATIC Family of Companies. “We hope our contributions to the flood relief will assist the Vermont community’s rebuild and aid towards a swift recovery.”

Damon Carter, president of the CATIC Foundation, added, “We sincerely wish a speedy recovery to the residents and businesses impacted by this significant flooding. The CATIC Foundation is proud to contribute to the Vermont Main Street Flood Relief Fund and its mission to help support recovery efforts occurring across the state.”
