Speaker Teaches You to be Successful on Capitol Hill
Let’s face it: Meeting directly with your Congressional representatives can be intimidating. What if I can’t answer a question? What if I forget what I’m supposed to say? What if I say the wrong thing? These worries sometimes become reasons not to attend ALTA Advocacy Summit.
But don’t let fear turn your “yes” into a “no”! At ALTA Advocacy Summit, we set you up for success on Capitol Hill.CEO and President of the Congressional Management Foundation (CMF), Bradford Fitch will speak with attendees about how to have a successful meeting with your Members of Congress as well as how to be a citizen advocate throughout the year. CMF conducts research directly with Members of Congress and Congressional staff to find out which methods of advocacy work best for citizen advocates like you.
With 36 years of experience in Washington, D.C., under his belt as a journalist, researcher, congressional aide and consultant, Fitch served in a variety of positions for four Members of Congress. Fitch also is the author of “Citizen’s Handbook to Influencing Elected Officials,” “Media Relations Handbook for Agencies, Associations, Nonprofits and Congress,” and many articles on communications and advocacy. He frequently is quoted in media outlets, including The New York Times, The Washington Post, USA Today, CBS News and CNN.
As title professionals, we have successfully managed change throughout our history. No matter what challenges we face, we remain steadfast in our work to protect property rights. As we continue to proudly advocate for our industry’s critical role, we know one thing is true: Our voices are stronger together. It’s the power of connection—to homebuyers, policymakers, our partners and communities—that makes us successful. Together, we are tenacious. Together, we are powerful. Together, we are the champions of the title industry.
