Fidlar Technologies to Launch Notary Fraud Alert System

July 29, 2025

Fidlar Technologies introduced a new fraud safeguard designed to protect against the growing threat of notary-related document fraud. Notary fraud can occur when someone forges a signature, steals a notary seal or records a document without the required presence or authorization. The Notary Fraud Alert (NFA) program is a free, easy-to-use service that allows notaries to monitor activity under their name and quickly detect signs of misuse.

Once enrolled, notaries can choose to receive daily, weekly or monthly reports detailing document recording information where their notarial credentials were applied. Each report includes the document number (or book and page), document type, and parties involved, making it easy to identify suspicious filings.

Fidlar’s Notary Fraud Alert works in conjunction with any land records management system. The only requirement from county offices is to properly index the notary information as shown on the recorded document.

Notary Fraud Alert will launch initially in St. Louis County, Mo., and Saline County, Ark., during the third quarter of 2025.

“Providing Notary Fraud and Property Fraud Alert free of charge has proven valuable services to Saint Louis County residents in protecting the security of their homes. We want to do all we can to help keep homeowners safe from bad actors.” said Dr. Sam Page, county executive for St. Louis County.

Myka Bono-Sample, circuit clerk and recorder for Saline County, added, “We are very excited to be the first county in Arkansas to offer Notary Fraud Alert. This new initiative is designed to help safeguard our citizens against property fraud, offering an added layer of security and peace of mind. Protecting your property is our top priority, and this service is just one more way we're working to serve and protect the residents of Saline County.”
